Professional Herbal Advocate (HA)

$100 annually + one-time $45 admin fee

This category is for individuals that do not yet meet the requirements of the Professional RHT category, who are no longer active as herbal therapists, who practice under other modalities, or who are active in the herbal industry in a capacity other than being a practitioner (such as manufacturing, retailing, educating, and consulting).

  5. May run for a position on the board of directors, or volunteer for subcommittee projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of  1200 training hours (e.g., formal education, apprenticeship, self-training, etc., years of experience are taken into account).  You can find more information about the education requirements here.

  • In the case of self-training, or if the Association deems necessary, the applicant may be required to take a written exam.

  • Continuing education: members in this category are required to take at least 10 hours/year (10 CEU) of continuing education.

  • Professional liability insurance is recommended where applicable.


List of required documents to submit with application:

1. Resume
2. Letter of Objective
3. Two letters of recommendation from herbal therapists
    • One letter may be from a retired therapist.  
    • If you are a non-practicing herbalist (e.g. herbal consultant, manufacturer, educator, herb grower, etc.) 2nd letter may be from another type of professional.
4. Copies of diplomas, degrees, certificates and transcripts
5. Two passport size photo


Refund Policy

  • No refund on Admin fees.

  • No refund on prorated discount when/if there is one.

  • 60% refund on the annual fee up to 5 days after a new/renewal application has been processed. No refund after that.
