This category is for individuals who have attained a degree of Western Herbal Medicine training suitable to preparing and recommending herbs within the context of a professional patient-practitioner relationship. We welcome non-residents of BC to apply for membership.

Requirements
A minimum of 2000 training hours (derived from one or a combination of formal education, apprenticeship, or self-directed study).
A minimum of 500 hours of supervised clinical experience (250 hours must be completed in-person).
Submit 3 case studies where you have worked with clients in your own clinical practice (outside of your 500 supervised hours). For a template click here.
Pass a Peer-review interview.
Final approval by the board of directors.
Take the Oath at subsequent AGM or board meeting
Agree to uphold the Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics at all times.
Complete ongoing Continuing Education (40 hours each calendar year) and submit a report alongside annual membership renewal
Professional liability insurance is strongly recommended for this membership category.
NOTE: If you are a new graduate you may submit 3 case studies from your supervised clinical hours. One year from acceptance as an RHT member you will be required to submit 3 new case studies from your own clinical practice in order to confirm RHT status.

NOTE: If you are applying for RHT membership and you are not a new graduate and you have a lapse in your clinical practice being active (i.e. you were on maternity leave or took a leave of absence from clinical practice) you are required to submit documentation that you have completed 40 hours of continuing education for each year of leave. For example if your clinical practice was not active for 2 years, you will need to submit continuing education documentation for 80 hours.

60% refund on the annual fee up to 5 days after a new/renewal application has been processed. No refund after that.
